April 19, 2013: Purdue University - As a part of the Purdue Geotechnical Society Workshop in West Lafayette, IN, John Mundell presents "The Design of Permeable Reaction Barriers (PRBs) for the Remediation of Chlorinated Solvent Plumes." In addition, John will speak on the closing panel, wrapping up which bring together experts on the workshop's theme - Soilmakers: Engineering Soil for Geoenvironmental Applications.


April 9, 2013 - Gabriel Hebert and John Mundell speak to the Kentucky Department of Environmental Projection about the benefits of geophysical applications for chemical source delineation and site characterization.

October 23, 2012 - John Mundell's involvement as an environmental expert witness in the court case State Auto versus DMY Realty Company (Marion Superior Court Cause No. 49A05-1109-PL-486),  leads to affirmation of the lower court's judgement in favor of DMY, allowing indemnification for all past and future investigation and remediation costs associated with DMY’s State Auto claim. The case involved historical chlorinated solvent releases at the location of two former operating dry cleaner located in the Chapelwood Shopping Center in Indianapolis.  Mundell provided testimony that evaluated the likely time-of-release of chemical products based on the type, severity and extent of groundwater impacts of perchloroethylene (PCE) and its breakdown products trichloroethylene (TCE), cis-1,2-dichloroethylene (cis-1,2-DCE) and vinyl chloride (VC). 


September 2012 - John Mundell continues participation on the IndyRezone technical committee efforts to rewrite the Marion County Wellhead Protection Ordinance for the City’s water supplies.  Mundell also provides wellfield education services for the Marion County Wellfield Education Corporation, providing consulting to the more than 400 businesses located in these wellhead protection zones.


August 21, 2012 - Irvington organizations and Mundell collaborate in showing of environmental film: Better Bones & Gardens during the monthly Irvington Green Hour in Indianapolis.


July 11, 2012 -  John Mundell presents to the monthly Indiana Geologists meeting on the topic of "Geophysical Imaging for Supportive Evaluation of the Ball State University Geothermal Wellfields." The talk highlighted Mundell's experience with geophysical characterization of geothermal wellfields and how these techniques provide improved information for distribution system designs.


April 28, 2012 - Mundell staff participates in annual Earth Day Indiana festival.


April 20, 2012 - John Mundell, Pilar Cuadra, and Julie Mundell speak at the Indiana University East Interfaith Institute in Richmond, Indiana on “The Economy of Communion: Businesses Engaging Interfaith & Poverty Solutions.”  The presentation included experiences of Mundell’s work in community activities and poverty eradication through the Economy of Communion business network.

February 3, 2012 - John Mundell and Julie Mundell represent the Economy of Communion business network at a presentation at the United Nations in New York City. The talk, “The Economy of Communion in Freedom:  Ongoing Developments in the Fight for the Eradication of Poverty,” focused on how the socially-minded businesses of the EoC network are responding to poverty needs throughout the world with a new model driven by for-profit businesses.  View the short video clip
2011

November 30, 2011 - Mundell & Associates, in collaboration with Lougheed & Associates, is selected to evaluate brownfield sites in Fort Wayne, Indiana as a part of a U.S Environmental Protection Agency Brownfield Assessment Grant. As a part of this work, Mundell will investigate sites having potential hazardous waste problems.
